Tenerife Shipyards has today signed an agreement for the construction of a floating dock at the world-class Chinese shipyard: Huarun Dadong Dockyard (HRDD).
The floating dock, which doubles the lifting capacity of vessels available in the Canary Islands, will be capable of lifting ships of up to 22,000 tonnes, 230 meters in length and 34 meters in beam.
It will be installed in the Port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife at the beginning of 2026, where they expect to definitively reactivate the ship repair market in the province of Tenerife.
Several members of the Tenerife Shipyards board of directors, as well as various agents from Puertos de Tenerife, including the deputy commercial director, were involved in the event celebrating the agreement. Likewise, the Spanish Consul in Shanghai was present, who provided a valuable international perspective to the event.
